Who ever said the W210's were bad. Those cars are monsters and reliable!

They are great cars! But early 2000's wasn't a good time for Mercedes.

I just got back from a 500 mile trip in my huge mileage e320 4M wagon. Not a hitch, a/c blowing cold, kids loving it. They have some issues but are mainly beasts

I know, these are my favorite of all the E-Classes. The wagon being my favorite, I pass in front of a Brabus wagon everyday on my way to work, thing looks incredible.

W211 was even more shoddy in quality, but just as proportionally batshit as one of the best products at the height of old AMG

It was? I had a 2007 and it was a really good car!

210's are fantastic. It's the quality of early 211's, 203's and 220's you have to watch out for, and even those aren't really all that bad as most of the issues have been taken care of by service campaigns and what not by now. My 210 has 187k right now and has no signs of giving up the ghost any time soon. And that is very common.

so you soon want to change your name to: my mercedes wont start?

what model? the facelift cars were a lot more reliable once they ditched the brake by wire and brushed up a bunch of other things. 12 years after the 211 E55's came out they're proving to be some of the most unreliable MB's of the last decade (probably second to the R230 SL's and any of the V12/ABC cars). Airmatic shocks, ic pumps, supercharger clutches, bad pano roofs, and worst of all, leaking fuel senders and tanks. Still awesome cars.

It was an E350. Ah I think it was the one that reverted to the original brakes. I remember hearing about that issue. I leased it for 3.5 years and never had an issue. I wish I still had it. That N/A V6 was buttery smooth. Good thing I didn't have one of the supercharged cars. And the car was very classy looking. It was understated. The one that replaced it was so angry looking.
Bummer the R230 was so unreliable. I also like how that car looks.

Facelift 211 E350s on steel suspension are probably one of the best used MB pickups today for the same reasons you liked yours. MB really turned around that chassis in terms of quality in the facelift. I loved the R230 as well, especially the 2009 facelift cars that most don't like.. its also too bad how insanely heavy they were, even by today's standards

Maybe one day we'll buy one of these cars. I could have just kept the one I had but oops... The facelift R230 would be pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind the weight because I would use it as a cruiser. I wouldn't consider it a sports car or even a sports GT. Just a pure GT.

Anytime a car owner brags about taking "a trip" and not having issues, you know the car has issues. It's like when VW owners brag about not having any problems when their car has 30k miles on it.
